One of the first things a college student at Drexel needs to do is to open a bank account to ensure a smooth flow of financial resources. Most banks do not require a social security number or an application fee for a new account. All they require is a government issued photo ID (possibly your passport) and the funds you want to deposit. There are different types of accounts with different facilities and spending limits depending on your host bank. Some of the main banks in the University city are:
Sovereign Bank 3131 Market St, Philadelphia, PA (215) 349-6000
Commerce Bank 3735 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA (888) 751-9000
PNC Bank 19 S 52nd St, Philadelphia, PA (215) 764-2023
Citizens Bank 134 S 34th St, Philadelphia, PA (215) 387-1900 http://www.citizensbank.com/home/
