The United States of America tax laws indicate that any person residing in U.S. territory and having a substantial earning has to file for tax returns. Though it is not mandatory to file taxes, it certainly is recommended as it helps you keep clean your record everytime there is a background check. As a student, you need to file taxes even if you do not have an income. If you do have an income then you can use two different softwares, CINTAX or TURBOTAX to evaluate your annual earnings and returns and then send it to the Department of Internal Revenue Services in Austin, Texas. Non-income taxes can be usually filed untill mid-June but tax-returns need to be filed by mid-April.

 

So make sure....you file your taxes and be a responsible resident.
